Bio:
Joseph Sorrentino made his first trip to Mexico in 1997 to photograph Day of the Dead, and has been back six times. Each time, he went to photograph religious ceremonies and found himself covering political events.
His images and articles have appeared in The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia City Paper, Delaware News Journal, The Oregonian and Rochester?s City Paper, among others. His photographs have also been published in several books, including ?Images From The Center,? ?Street Lives,? and ?Housing for Special Needs.? He has had 35 solo photographic exhibitions, and has received grants from the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation, Institute for Justice and Journalism, the Puffin Foundation and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
